About awardlanes

awardlanes turns USDA's food-purchase award notices into a list of plant-to-destination lanes for your states, each linked to the USDA page it came from, so you can pitch the vendor before its delivery window opens.

Every lane links to USDA's own page. 30 of 30 random lanes rebuilt from USDA's files on Nov 6, 2026.

Why awardlanes exists

USDA buys food for domestic programs such as the National School Lunch Program (USDA's master solicitation, page 6). It posts its awards on its public procurement portal, usually as a PDF award notice, a Bid Array spreadsheet and the solicitation. When an award is bought f.o.b. destination, the vendor pays to deliver the food to each destination city (FAR 52.247-34, page 33). Those deliveries are freight a broker can pitch for.

The lanes are in those files, but spread thin. For Texas alone, the 862 lanes with deliveries still due as of Nov 7, 2026 come from 77 award notices with 1,606 PDF pages. awardlanes reads the files every week and turns them into one list per state: plant, destination, quantity and delivery window, each linked to the USDA page it came from.

Who's behind it

awardlanes is a product of Helios One Oy. We cite USDA; we are not USDA, and we don't work for USDA, FMCSA or any food vendor.

How we keep the data honest

  1. Copied, never written

Every value on a lane is copied from a field of a USDA record. No AI model writes or estimates a number. How each source is used

  2. Re-checked before it's listed

Before a lane is listed, our engine re-reads USDA's raw files and checks each file's fingerprint and printed values. 0 of 8,355 findings failed that check as of Nov 7, 2026.

  3. Checked again, separately

On Nov 6, 2026, a separate check, with code that shares nothing with our engine, downloaded the USDA and USAspending files again and rebuilt 30 randomly drawn findings. 30 of 30 matched. About the check

  4. A “Wrong record?” button on every lane

It saves your report with the lane and its data date. Each lane also links to its USDA page, so you can check it yourself in one click.
